We want a clean environment. The waste of raw materials annoys us. We strive for efficient processes, environmentally friendly technologies and sustainable products. Therefore we want to make research understandable and motivate people to join us in the transition to a sustainable society. This is what we stand for. This is what Fraunhofer UMSICHT stands for.

For us, sustainability is lived practice. We are interested in what needs to change in order to make the transition to a sustainable society work. We have in mind the change in the supply of raw materials and energy and the change from a linear economic system to a circular one. We are familiar with this. This is what we are researching.

We want an earth that is worth living on. An earth on which nature and civilization are not mutually exclusive. That is why the sustainable energy and raw materials shift is the focus of our work at Fraunhofer UMSICHT: With our research on carbon management, circular economy, green hydrogen and local energy systems, we make concrete contributions to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
