We provide support in addressing environmental and process engineering issues

Precise and reliable analytics are essential for addressing environmental and process engineering issues in business and industry. Fraunhofer UMSICHT has the necessary equipment and personnel expertise at its disposal: We offer analytical support for process development and use analytical instruments and methods tailored to your specific requirements. Based on our many years of experience, we evaluate the results for your further development steps and draw the relevant conclusions from the measurements for practical application.

In addition to standard procedures (DIN, ASTM), our range of services includes, in particular, the development of innovative, tailor-made methods. We address your individual analytical questions in accordance with the guidelines for the validation of analytical methods, such as DIN ISO 11352 “Estimation of measurement uncertainty based on validation and control data.”

In addition, quality assurance measures such as participation in international interlaboratory tests are an integral part of our analytical work and include both sample preparation and the actual analysis. This ensures that we are always at the current status for our partners in science and industry.

Our services include, among other things:

  • Product purity determinations
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis of reactants and products of organo syntheses and technical processes (e.g., high-pressure synthesis)
  • Effectiveness control of process engineering purification stages (depletion or enrichment of the target compound)
  • Verification of environmentally relevant parameters
  • Screening procedures

The “Analytics” department at Fraunhofer UMSICHT is equipped with analytical instruments in the fields of chromatography, elemental analysis, elementary analysis, and Sorptomatic. In addition, we have a wide range of other offline analytical instruments and equipment for material characterization. Another unique selling point is access to the institute's own digitization platform, which enables us and our partners to collect, centrally store and analyze our analytical data in a technical and scientific environment. This allows us to gain insights from efficiently and securely stored data in order to make informed decisions and optimize processes and products.
